The rock still sweats in the grotto where in 1858 the Virgin appeared to fourteen-year-old Bernadette numerous times in Lourdes, France — a small village nestled at the base of the Pyrenees. In the Visions of the Virgin, yellow roses capped her feet.
Today, over five million pilgrims of many faiths visit the grotto in hope of spiritual healing.
Inspired by the Visions of the Virgin and the miraculous water which flows from the site, the Virgin sits in silhouette under glass enamel, framed in a Fleur de Lis 14 karat or sterling silver frame. A symbolic hand-made 14 karat gold rose vessel — holding a tincture of the holy water from Lourdes — accompanies the gold option.
