Sitting beneath a Bodhi tree in meditation, Buddha was assaulted by the demon Mara with self-doubt and tempted repeatedly by lust, fear, and aggression. Buddha touched the ground with his right hand, calling the Earth to be his witness to steadfast reality.
At that moment, without resistance or attachment, suffering ceased and Buddha was enlightened.
Inspired by the Bodhi Tree and Earth as Witness, old Thai amulets are cast in 14k gold and silver. Each piece is adorned with the lotus — rising pure from muddy water — and a rudraksha seed, sacred and steadying, together symbolizing both purity and enlightenment.
